This garlicky Italian Shrimp Pasta is homemade and so amazing! Your whole family is going to love it!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds raw unpeeled shrimp
  • 1 pound uncooked linguine
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup diced shallots
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup pasta water
  • 3 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Defrost, peel and devein shrimp
  2. Chop the shallots into small fine pieces.
  3. Slice the garlic cloves thinly.
  4. Measure out the rest of your ingredients and set everything aside.
  5. Bring 6 quarts of water to a boil in a large stock pot on the stove.
  6. Put a large saucepan on the stove and turn the heat on medium.
  7. Time it out so that when you drop the pasta into the water, you immediately add the oil into the saucepan.
  8. Next add the shallots and the sliced garlic into the saucepan.
  9. Let that cook for a minute and then add in the dry ingredients and the tomato paste.
  10. Stir everything together and then add the wine.
  11. Let it all come to a simmer and then add in the shrimp and
  12. Cover for 2-3 minutes of cooking time.
  13. Drain the pasta when it is cooked al dente. (Save 1/2 cup of the pasta water.)
  14. Add the pasta water to the shrimp and sauce, mix together and bring back to a simmer.
  15. Turn the heat off the sauce and melt the butter into it and mix well.
  16. You can serve the pasta with shrimp added on top or mix all the pasta into the shrimp and sauce, then serve.
